Toei Academy is a family run company, in Tomiya just north of Sendai proper. It is made up of three kindergartens, Takanomori and Hiyordai, and Akaishidai, that has an international class. This international class will be the primary job. The kindergartens are full of friendly, hardworking teachers who love their jobs and working with children. We are looking for a hardworking, friendly person who loves to work with children as much as the rest of the staff and wants to have the children to speak English with them. There are morning English classes for all of the children and afternoon classes for children who want to study English. The international course has English only time, which the teacher, along with the Japanese teachers, spends time focused on English with songs, crafts, games, books, etc. The working hours are 8-5 at the kindergartens, and maybe subject to change at Akaishidai kindergarten, such as 9-6. The children’s age range will be anywhere from 1 year-old to 6 years-old, and some elementary school aged children in the afternoons for English lessons. The days are normally Monday through Friday, with national holidays and weekends off. There will be some events on weekends or national holidays that the teacher will be expected to attend. Make-up holidays are available. Christmas holiday will be from December 24th to 26th and new years holiday will be from December 28th to January 3rd. The kindergartens are closed on national holidays. There will also be two weeks of paid holiday during the school year. National health insurance, pension, school lunch, and a 20,000¥ transportation fee are included. We would like a teacher who has a Japanese drivers license, or is able to get one before starting.
